Sunpu Gate Display @ Lauritzen Gardens
The 1/3 scale Sunpu Castle Gate replica is on permanent display after the late September 2005 Build at the site of the future Japanese Garden in Omaha's Lauritzen Gardens. The Gate was a gift from the  business men of Omaha Sister City, Shizuoka, Japan to Lauritzen Gardens.

Tuesday November 1st, 2005

Late Autumn Photos of the gate area. Trees are nearly leafless but the red bushes adds accent and a torch of color.

Friday December 9th, 2005- 12 of 33 photos displayed - Larry's Photos

The white blanket of snow from the pass two weeks of cold weather and snow fall gives the area a whole new look.
It was near gone on the following Tuesday.  This series of photo simulated a walk from the road to Mt Fuji and back.

After Christmas, Steve Adams' extended family visited the Sunpu Gate.  his niece and nephew are from Indianapolis, Indiana

After the December snow, the Lanterns were wrapped in heavy plastic for winter protection.

After visiting the new Kenefick Park, Mike Bruening and I explored Lauritzen Gardens and visited the Sunpu Gate .

Japanese Ambience: A Salute to Shizuoka and Japanese Culture, Which is part of the 2006 Autumn Ambience festival, has
various Japan theme Activities, Tree Planting Ceremony & Takio Drumming Performance.

After viewing the Stained-Glass Art Exhibit & the  Spring Flower Show at the Lauritzen Gardens’ Visitor and Educational Center, 
I walked to the Founders' Garden, and back with a stop at the Sunpu Gate area. 

Its in the 60’s today, Just a week ago, Omaha had a March blizzard with a foot of snow!
This Snow season, the Lanterns are covered with burlap, instead of heavy plastic for winter protection.
