Tile Signing "Ceremony"
Early afternoon, before the tiles were installed on the
Sunpu Gate, nearly everyone at the Construction site (Japanese Construction Crew and American volunteers) signed a roof tile. Below are various messages written on the underside of tiles in English & Japanese.

First Lantern Installation
It took all afternoon to install the first Lantern - the largest lantern in front and to the left of the
Sunpu Gate. It took a crane and much handing plus patience & time to assemble this lantern. Interesting, it took nearly 100 pennies to level and raise it a fraction of an inch off its base.
