Viewed on September 20th ,2005 -
The area around the site of the
Sunpu Castle Gate Replica at
Luaritzen Gardens (new
Japanese Garden) is being prepared. Mini
Mt. Fuji is being built. The dirt for Mt. Fuji came from the site of
the Gardens' new
Kenefick Park. A sidewalk of pre-cut stone block (slab)
was laid from the road to the future gate entrance (See
Map of Sunpu Gate Area)

Gate in a Box
A few days ago, the disassembled gate still in the shipping crates was delivered
from a
S.W. Omaha warehouse
to the gate site. The crates next to sidewalk contained the gate’s posts, beams
and other structure gate pieces. At the opposite end of the line is a stack of
bamboo fence “panels” In between are stacks of hand made roof tiles covered in
plastic. Look closely, you can see the tile through blue plastic covering. (see the all blue photo
below)
